The Careers, Information, Advice & Guidance (CEIAG) programme is at the heart of what we do and who we are at Churchill Community College.
We aim to support, enable and empower students, staff and parents/carers around CEIAG in order to maximise the potential of our students.
We were proud to have been part of the Gatsby Benchmarks pilot and last year met 6 out of 8 of the Gatsby Benchmarks for the 2019-20 academic year, despite the Pandemic.
The school continually assesses the impact of its Career Programme on students. We do this by reviewing our own practise within the department; by completing an annual student survey; and analysing destination data in line with activities that they have taken part in at school. In addition, the views of students and parents are always surveyed after key events e.g. Parents’ Evening, Year 10 Work Experience, Theme Days etc.
We know how important a stable and inclusive careers programme is to ensuring our students reach their full potential.
- Students understand that academic success leads to career opportunities and choices.
- Students relate their pathways to local labour market information when making decisions.
- Students understand the relevance of subject knowledge in relation to the World of Work and the importance of transferable skills.
