What a result - Churchill named one of country's most improved schools.

Churchill Community College has been recognised by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) after students significantly improved their GCSE results.
The schools that met the criteria were invited to attend a celebration dinner, which was held at the Royal College of Physicians, in London.
Elizabeth Reid. chief executive of the SSAT, said. " I would like to congratulate these specialist schools and academies for their continued success in raising GCSE results.
"Their efforts and achievements will mean more young people will have received good qualifications and had their opportunities widened."
"If every young person is to receive a world-class education then we must set world-class standards that challenge every school to improve year on year."
Churchill Community College was recognised for its excellent achievement in securing: At least 10% improvement from 2005-2008 in achieving five or more A*- C grades, with year on year improvement; At least 10% improvement from 2005-2008 in achieving five or more A*- C grades, with year on year improvement including English and maths.
This recognition was in addition to the exam results already achieved bu current Year 11 students studying for GCSEs in 2009.
Headteacher David Baldwin said: "This is an excellent achievement by our students and demonstrates how well the College is doing overall." "This Summer should be a very exciting time for our students and our community."
