MARY GLINDON MP VISITS CHURCHILL

North Tyneside MP Mary Glindon visited Churchill Community College on Friday 2nd of July to launch the new Year 6/7 Transition Programme.

A number of students from Battle Hill Primary School; Denbigh Primary School; Hadrian Park Primary School and Stephenson Memorial Primary School launched the programme with M.P., Mary Glindon. They were the first to see the new transition material specifically designed to support literacy progress during the move from primary school to Churchill Community College.

Mary, and her Constituency Office Manager Christine Aird, had a buffet lunch with the students, which gave them all time to talk about being an MP, what Parliaments like and what is PM question time like.

Mary said "It was an absolute pleasure to spend some quality time with so many fabulous children, who asked so many fantastic questions about my work, life and interests."

"I really want to be part of this amazing scheme to keep students interested in school during the Summer holiday."

At the end of the presentation Mary thanked the students and asked if she could return in September to see how the scheme was going.

Churchill Community College would like to say a very big thank you to Mary for supporting our Summer Holiday scheme.
