Friendship Games 2011

This June, Sixth Form students from Churchill Community College represented North Tyneside at the International Friendship Games in Kocevje, Slovenia and came 4th in the competition. This is best that North Tyneside have ever done in the Friendship Games so we are incredibly proud of the 2011 CCC Team.

The team of 20 students competed against teams from Germany, France, Poland, Croatia and Slovenia. The games themselves involved team working, strength and speed challenges in an “It’s a Knockout” style competition. The CCC team did brilliantly at the games winning two of the events and keeping the other teams and event organisers entertained with their high spirits and team chants!

The Games were part of a wider cultural exchange which brings together young people from our European Twin Towns. Next July North Tyneside are hosting a special Olympic themed Friendship Games event welcoming young people from all over Europe to compete and take part.
