Key Stage 3 Edge Group visit London
On Wednesday 27th June, a  number of students from Years 7 and 8 accompanied by Mrs Huxtable, Mr Ludlow and Miss Bruce visited London as part of their work on the PiXL Edge.
Our students have been focussing on developing their skills in Leadership, Organisation, Resilience, Initiative and Communication.  Our Fast Track Edge group who have successfully completed their Edge Apprentice award has this presented to them in front of 1600 people in Westminster’s Central Hall by Sir John Rowling.  This was an amazing experience for everyone – students were thrilled and staff were so proud of our young people.
We also visited the Houses of Parliament where we were able to go into both the House of Commons and the House of Lords and listen to debates currently taking place.  After this we held our own parliamentary debate where students took on the role of MPs and we also met Mary Glindon, our MP.
It was an amazing day, which everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed.
